Report Finds Retention of C-Level and Senior Executives a Priority

The quarterly Boyden Executive Outlook reported that C-level executives with technical skills and proven track records in leadership are in short supply, making their retention and recruitment “a critical mandate,” according to Boyden President and CEO Trina Gordon.

Senior executives with the right skill sets are most crucial in the financial, industrial/energy and technology sectors. Following widespread restructuring within the financial sector, retail banking, fin tech and wealth management are among the most active areas. Industrial and energy companies, faced with succession issues, are at a loss for leaders with technical expertise. In technology, advances in mobile and cloud computing are creating a need for executives who can manage change.

In the emerging markets, particularly Russia, China, Asia and Latin America, the proliferation of infrastructure projects, increasing M&A activity and technological advancement are fueling demand for skilled executives.
