Brent is Managing Director for Boyden Canada — offices in Calgary and Toronto. He has over 13 years of search experience, including previous experience with two other prominent  global executive search firms.

Brent’s search focus includes the energy sector, boards of directors, education, healthcare, government, resource services, and not-for-profit organizations. Functional areas of search expertise are President and CEO’s, not-for-profit management, communications, public relations, human resources, labor relations, government affairs, finance and administration. 

Brent recently received the ICD-D designation as a Certified Director from the Institute of Corporate Directors after successfully completing the Director’s Education Program through the University of Calgary. Brent’s board experience includes serving on the Board of Governors of Mount Royal College and the Mount Royal College Foundation, the United Way of Calgary and Area, and Theatre Junction as well as several political organizations at both the constituency and provincial level. He currently serves on the Board of Print Audit Ltd., a privately held software development company.

Prior to entering into the search profession, he managed public and government relations for 10 years with Shell Canada Limited in both Toronto and Calgary. Prior to joining Shell, he spent seven years with the Alberta Government in Edmonton, including three years as Executive Assistant to Premier Peter Lougheed. Brent also has four years of human resources management experience with Alberta Transportation and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Brent holds both a Bachelor of Commerce in organizational theory and an MBA in industrial relations from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta.
