Howard J. Gross joined Boyden New York as Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of Boyden’s Retail and Fashion Practice. Prior to Boyden and for the past 14 years, Mr. Gross was a Managing Director at Herbert Mines Associates, a retained executive search firm specializing in the recruitment of executives for retail, apparel and hard lines manufacturing businesses and direct marketing companies. Previously, Mr. Gross held various industry executive management positions with The BATUS Group, the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue, Kohl’s, Marshall Fields, etc.; Bonwit Teller
and May Department Stores.

Mr. Gross has had extensive experience performing searches for board members, and general managers including CEO’s and COO’s. He has also conducted many searches for key management executives with backgrounds in merchandising, design/product development, finance, marketing, advertising, sales, store operations, information technology, human resources, and distribution/logistics. He has a broad base of clients in retail, wholesale, and direct marketing businesses ranging from small entrepreneurial companies, to large corporations as well as specialty retail and luxury goods businesses. Mr. Gross also has substantial background in organizational development and compensation consulting.

Mr. Gross has a Master’s degree in Psychology and a B.S. in Psychology and Business.

He is also a member of the Fashion Service Network and he is active in various community organizations on Long Island.
