John Hamilton is a Managing Director of the Boyden office located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. John joined Boyden in May 2005 after extensive management and senior recruitment experience over a 30-year corporate career in multi-industry environments including healthcare, laboratory, scientific and medical equipment and supplies; medical device and instrumentation; healthcare information technology; service; hospitality and consumer goods. John is currently a member of the Life Sciences and Healthcare Practice, as well as the Human Resources Specialty Practice, within Boyden.

Prior to joining Boyden, John held senior corporate management positions including Group Vice-President, Human Resources, Global Distribution Services Group, Fisher Scientific; Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, AMSCO International; Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Hyatt Hotels Corporation; Group and Divisional Vice-President, Human Resources, Baxter/American Hospital Supply Corporation; Director of Recruitment, American Hospital Supply Corporation, and Professional Staffing Manager, Hallmark Cards Corporation. John has experience in public and private corporations as well as entrepreneurial environments and is comfortable working with both large and small organizations. In addition, John served as a Captain in the US Army-Europe, stationed in Germany, prior to beginning his corporate career.

John's experience in corporate executive recruitment includes senior executive, general management and functional management recruitment including Sales and Marketing; Operations; Distribution and Logistics; Business Development; Finance; Healthcare Information Technology; and Human Resources. In addition, John conducted numerous management assessments during merger and acquisition due diligence and operational integrations.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, John currently serves on the Board of Directors of the UPMC St. Margaret Hospital and formerly served as President of the St. Margaret Foundation. John holds an MBA from the University of Utah, a BA in Business Administration from Michigan State University and is a graduate of the Advanced Human Resource Executive Program at the University of Michigan.
