Prior to Kong’s Executive Search career, he was a Manufacturing Industrial Engineer for Yardley of London, which produced premium level perfumery and luxury toiletry products.  He then went into Sales and Product Marketing positions for MNC’s such as Bass Brewery and Motorola (Cellular phones division) in the UK.   He was responsible for category management, strategic and tactical marketing activities in the retail sector of London and South East of England.

In 1998, Kong was hired from the UK to join a leading International Executive Search and Selection firm in their Hong Kong office.  He was subsequently promoted to Technology Practice Head and then Country Manager.  Here he was responsible managing large key accounts such as GE, IBM, MCI Worldcom, British Telecom, Intel and Cisco as well as other hi-tech organizations during the technology boom.  In 2003 Kong was invited join a reputable executive search firm in Beijing.  He brought his management experience and executive search expertise to effectively deliver results in a highly dynamic Chinese market.

At Boyden, Kong heads the Beijing office and is Managing Director.  He has quickly developed a strong reputation in China for delivery value and an outstanding service to his clients.   Kong’s clients include Fortune 500 global leaders and companies who are starting up operations in China and his assignments range from mid to senior level management positions and of all major functions of a business.  He brings to the table an excellent network of senior professionals in HR, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Engineering and C level business contacts.

Married with one son, Kong lives with his family in Beijing.  He enjoys weekend family outings, bringing up his young boy, travelling, and cooking.  Kong also enjoys photography and working out at the gym as frequently as possible.

Kong completed a Higher National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering and continued to obtain his Bachelor Degree with Honours in Engineering and Management, both from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK.  His special interests included Business Management and Technology.
