Richard Dannenberg

Richard Dannenberg is a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Financial Services practice. He is the lead and senior member of the Insurance team based in Baltimore. 

For more than 25 years he has provided  human capital counsel to multinational insurance, managed care, and consulting firms in the life, health, and property and casualty arena. A veteran of hundreds of executive searches, his particular areas of expertise include the actuarial, risk management, and senior finance disciplines, as well as consulting firm partner and principal engagements.

Nationally recognized and sought for his industry insight, Richard has lectured on career planning at numerous college campuses and presented to the business community on such topics as executive search, insurance trends, and executive challenges. 

Prior to joining Boyden, Richard was a consultant with a top ten executive search firm specializing in the recruitment of healthcare professionals, where he consulted to corporations and managed care plans throughout the United States. Among his prominent clients were AEGON, AIG/Sun America, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, and Ernst & Young.

Earlier in his career, Richard was a founder of an executive search firm specializing in the insurance industry. He built and managed the firm’s Actuarial Practice over the course of 20 years, developing a deep understanding of industry trends and challenges, as well as long-standing relationships among actuarial, underwriting, and financial executives.  

Richard maintains his strong ties and keen insight of the insurance industry through active participation in actuarial and insurance association meetings.

He holds a degree a B.A. degree in Political Science from Loyola College.
