Michael is the Managing Partner of Boyden Australia and has led a number of executive search mandates focusing on senior roles with companies in the industrial, resources, mining, consumer, manufacturing, retail and not for profit sectors.

Michael’s professional career began with the Pacific Dunlop Group where he undertook several assignments in operations, brand management and sales. Accepting a pivotal international sales and marketing role with the Swiss group, Benninger AG, in 1990 he lived and worked in Germany for four years while leading all sales activities in China, Indonesia, Philippines, UK, Turkey and ANZ.

In 1997, Michael joined an executive search firm and established new business units covering industrial, manufacturing, consumer and retail sectors.  He led the development into new market areas culminating in the launch of a subsidiary organisation, providing executive search to the sport, events and recreation sectors.

Michael has a strong track record of identifying senior executives across general management and all key functional areas in industrial, mining and consumer markets inclusive of operations, sales and marketing, technology, finance and human resources. This has included providing strategic advice to numerous corporations in attracting key leadership through the management of multiple global assignments.

Michael’s specific expertise and interests lie in organisational change strategies, executive search and performance management.  He has represented government on various trade missions to India, England, Brazil and the UAE and serves on a number of education and community Boards and advisory Committees, these include:  Deakin University and Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar School and until recently he was a Council member for the Burwood East Special Development School.
