As Managing Director at Boyden Prague, Joachim is a leader in a variety of practice groups including board search, cleantech, consumer products, education, financial services, human resources, industrial, life sciences & healthcare, management assessment, not-for-profit, professional services, specialty, and technology.

He joined Boyden after founding Sauter Consulting in the Czech and Slovak Republic, a successful firm with a focus on executive search towards managerial positions. He has served international companies in developing their businesses in Central Eastern Europe.

Prior to search, his professional career included retail management with Salamander AG in Germany. He then worked as an external project manager for Mercedes Benz in the UK, and subsequently as  a general and turnaround manager for an automotive tier 2 supplier in the Czech Republic.

Joachim holds a Diploma Betriebswirt from the Fachhochschule in Wuerzburg (Germany); a Diploma in management studies from Portsmouth Polytechnic (UK); and an MBA from the Ecole Européen des Affaires (Paris). He is also a certified Management Trainer and Coach.

Joachim is fluent in English, German, and Czech.
