A in English Language and Literature from Oxford University. Joined the Ocean Group as a graduate trainee and after spells in two different UK distribution businesses, was seconded to Straits Streamship in Singapore. After initial ships’ cargo handling agency work, appointed second employee of brand new cruise ship operation, Blue Funnel Cruises. As Operations Manager, became responsible for routes, staffing, port calls shore excursions and the onboard hotel product. Returned to the UK, after five years, to another new Ocean venture, Cory Gases, as Sales and Marketing Manager. Grew company to largest Shell distributor in UK for LPG. Three years later, headhunted to become Chief Executive of Readygas, a division of H Young Holdings plc. Became recruitment consultant in 1990 with a move to NB Selection. Helped NBS become market leader. Transferred from Executive Director of NBS to the executive search business, Norman Broadbent International, before joining Hanover Fox International as Director-in-charge of its London office in 1999. Grew office and business over six years before joining Boyden as a Partner in December 2005. Has recruited Board executives across all main stream disciplines in industrial and commercial sectors, specialising in supply chain, retail, property and sport & leisure. Sample assignments: Chief Executives of two major trade organisations, Head of Strategic Purchasing for a global capital goods manufacturer, European CFO for a large US chemical manufacturer, Director of Tennis Operations for the LTA.
