Born in Romania and long time resident of Venezuela. After high school in Caracas, graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in chemical engineering, and spent an additional year as an applied research staff member.
Before joining Maxecon in 1993, which became affiliated with Boyden in 1996, was a Vice-President of the Corimon Group and CEO of their Frica and Gerber subsidiaries (processed foods). Prior to this, he was President of the Venezuelan subsidiary of Oxy Metal Industries (specialty chemicals products, part of Hooker Chemical/Occidental Petroleum), and worked for the Venezuelan subsidiary of Shell Chemical for nine years.
Fluent in Spanish, English, French and German.
Member of Venamcham, was Chairman of its Processed Foods Committee. Member and former President of several community service organizations.
Married to a physician, and has three grown children.
