With over 30 years experience in steel, manufacturing & distribution industries, Bruce joined Boyden Melbourne in 1992.

Bruce began his career in Newcastle as a metallurgist at Comsteel, Australia’s then major alloy and stainless steel manufacturer, followed by positions in operations, marketing and sales. He gained research and operations experience in England and Canada and became Marketing Manager, covering the company’s Australian and international markets. In 1982, Bruce moved to Melbourne to run the sales offices of BHP, Australia’s major steel producer, in a period of significant cultural change. Subsequently, as Group Manager Marketing, Bruce provided strategic marketing direction and support for BHP and its related organisations. He has been a member of several boards, including Boyden’s international board.

During his twelve years in executive search, Bruce has successfully undertaken many senior searches at board, Chief Executive and General Management level across a broad range of industries throughout Australia and internationally. His recent clients have been in the mining, manufacturing, supply chain, automotive, petroleum, engineering, transport and energy industries.

Bruce brings to Boyden’s clients extensive corporate experience in marketing, operations, planning and human resource management in large complex and medium size corporations. In addition to his BSc(Hons) from University of NSW, Bruce holds an MBA from Adelaide University.
