Rod B. Malcolm

Rod Malcolm is a Managing Director in Boyden’s Toronto office. Rod offers his clients a deep understanding of the business issues they are facing gained from his over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and general management positions with major international corporations combined with his extensive executive search experience.



Active in executive search since 1995, Rod has completed numerous senior level assignments with a principal focus on the consumer goods, retail, real estate, communications and industrial sectors. Specific assignments include searches for Board members, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers and senior executives across virtually all functional areas including general management, marketing, sales, finance, human resources and development.



Prior to joining Boyden Canada in 2007, Rod was the Managing Director of M+H Search Partners in Toronto, a boutique firm he co-founded in 2000. Previously, Rod had been the Managing Partner of the Canadian Consumer and Retail Practice at Korn/Ferry International. 



Rod began his career with Procter and Gamble where he spent six years in various marketing assignments. He then spent over 10 years with Pepsi-Cola International in Canada, Asia, and the United States where he served as Vice-President, Cola Marketing. Returning to Canada in 1988, Rod moved into the financial services sector where he held general management roles. He subsequently returned to consumer goods marketing when he accepted the role of President of KFC, a division of Scott’s Food Service.



Rod currently sits on the Board of Directors of Forterra Inc., a highly innovative, publicly traded company involved in the processing of organic waste. Rod is also very active in community organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics Festival which is the primary fund-raising arm of Special Olympics Canada. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Governors for Sterling Hall School, Treasurer of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, and Chairman of Upper Canada College Rowing Program. 



Rod graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and has completed an Executive Development program in financial management form Columbia University. He is married with three children.
