Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital and second most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is also the seat of government for the country and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which is ruled by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE. Abu Dhabi lies on a T-shaped island jutting into the Arabian Gulf from the central western coast. One of the world's largest producers of oil, Abu Dhabi has actively sought to diversify its economy in recent years through investments in financial services and tourism.

Additionally, Abu Dhabi has invested heavily in both the Arts and Education sectors attracting both Gugenheim & the Louvre museums as well as Paris-Sorbonne and (shortly) New York University. Abu Dhabi also hosted its first Formula One Grand Prix in 2009 bringing the season to a close.
