John R. Howard joined the Boyden office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2001 as a Managing Director after a twenty-year career in the metals and engineered equipment industries. John has placed senior management and executive level positions for national as well as global natural resources, manufacturing and engineering companies.  This includes CEO, President and Vice President (Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Sales & Marketing) and Director level positions within the North American market as well as Ex-Patriate positions in Asia.  Specific industries served include steel and aluminum production and processing, heavy manufacturing, mining and capital equipment manufacturers for various industries.  John led Boyden’s Global Industrial Practice from 2008 to 2011.

John joined Boyden in February 2001, following four years as Vice President and General Manager of Danieli CentroMet USA, a division of Danieli Corporation of Pittsburgh.  Before joining Danieli, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Fuchs Systems, Inc. in Salisbury, North Carolina.  Fuchs Systems was a leading supplier of melt shop equipment to the mini-mill steel industry.  Prior to his sales career, John held positions in project management, engineering and maintenance, both for equipment supply companies and steel mills.  His experience in the metals business includes process improvement, capital equipment supply, engineering and construction of Greenfield and Brownfield facilities.

John is a graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
