New Directors also elected to firm’s Global Board to support global growth

SYDNEY and NEW YORK, May 6, 2019 Boyden, a premier global talent and leadership advisory firm with more than 65 offices in over 40 countries, today announced that Jörg Kasten has been re-elected to a third term as Chairman and three new members were appointed to its Global Board. The elections were held at Boyden’s annual partner meeting in Sydney, Australia.

The new board members, elected to two-year terms, include Jim Harmon, a Managing Partner of Boyden Canada and member of the firm’s Global Technology Practice; Kjetil Haug-Nodeland, a Managing Partner of Boyden Norway and member of the Global Industrial Practice; and Ulrich “Uli” Schumann, a Managing Partner of Boyden Germany and former Global Technology Practice Leader.

Trina Gordon, who also serves on the firm’s Global Board, was re-elected to another term as Boyden’s President & CEO through 2021. She has been in the top leadership role since 2011 and remains the only woman to ever serve as CEO of a major global executive search firm.

Our new board members offer important expertise in technology, private equity and venture capital, which are playing increasingly important roles in all sectors, including Consumer/Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences and Industrial organizations.”

Jim Harmon, Board Member: Harmon is a key member of firm’s Global Technology Practice. He has executed numerous board, CEO, C-suite and other senior executive placements in the tech, aerospace and defense sectors. In addition, he is a Co-Founder of Boyden’s Ontario offices and serves on Boyden’s Canadian Board of Directors. Harmon holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Kjetil Haug-Nodeland, Board Member: Kjetil leads a wide range of board and senior executive searches for Norwegian and multinational organizations in Consumer/Retail, Industrial, Energy, Professional Services, Private Equity and Venture Capital. Previously, he served as a Managing Partner of another leading global executive search firm. Kjetil earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and human resources from BI Norwegian Business School and in environmental engineering from University of Agder.

Uli Schumann, Board Member: Schumann specializes in new areas within international IT, telecommunications, new media, IoT, big data and cleantech, with a strong background in Private Equity and Venture Capital. He also focuses on board appointments and searches in Consumer & Retail and Industrial. Schumann holds a master’s degree in psychology and has completed additional coursework in social sciences and business management at University of Marburg and University of Bonn. He was named as one of Germany’s Most Influential Search Professionals by Wirtschaftswoche.

Partners continuing to serve on the firm’s Global Board include William Farrell, Asia-Pacific Director and Managing Partner of Greater China; Carita Lahti, EMEA Director and Managing Partner of Boyden Finland; and Robert Travis, Americas Director and Managing Partner of Boyden Canada and Boyden United States.

Earlier this month, for the third consecutive year, Forbes ranked Boyden in the top ten among 200 organizations on its new list of Best Executive Recruiting Firms.
