Ottawa, ON - Dec 16, 2025
On behalf of the CGA Board of Directors, Chair Roger Dall’Antonia announces the appointment of Susanna Zagar as the Canadian Gas Association’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026.
“We are delighted to welcome Susanna Zagar as the next President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association,” said Dall’Antonia. “Her regulatory expertise, strategic insight, and collaborative leadership style make her exceptionally well-suited to guide the association and its members through a dynamic period for Canada’s energy sector.”
Zagar most recently served as CEO of the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), where she led the organization through a major modernization, strengthened consumer protection, advanced regulatory innovation, and helped shape energy policy in Ontario and across the country. Her tenure was marked by strong thought-leadership, active stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to transparency and accountability.
“I am thrilled to join the Canadian Gas Association at such a pivotal time in the national energy discourse,” said Zagar. “Natural gas utilities play a vital role in delivering affordable, reliable and safe energy to Canadians and they are critical to the future growth of the domestic energy ecosystem. I look forward to working with CGA members and partners to support Canadian energy security, drive innovation and deliver the kind of forward-thinking public policy leadership that is necessary for the future success of the Canadian energy industry.”
