Boyden is pleased to share the appointment news of Noel Voykin as President and Chief Executive Officer

February 21, 2019  HAY RIVER, Northwest Territories  Robert C. McLeod, Minister Responsible for the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC), has appointed Noel Voykin as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, effective April 1, 2019.

Mr. Voykin brings considerable experience from both the domestic and international mining and electrical utilities industries, including experience in the both the public and private sectors. He gained his electrical utility experience in positions within the Canadian Armed Forces, SaskPower, and TransAlta Utilities. Mr. Voykin has experience in the areas of corporate development, major projects, sales, and research and development. Most recently, he was an engineering executive within Cameco Corporation; where he oversaw the technical aspects of all of Cameco’s worldwide operations.

Mr. Voykin is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. 

“The people of the Northwest Territories rely on the NWT Power Corporation to generate, transmit and distribute clean, reliable and affordable energy,” said Minister McLeod. “I look forward to working with Mr. Voykin as the Corporation continues to provide the power that fuels the growth of our territory and its economy, and supports sustainable communities."

NTPC is a wholly owned subsidiary of NT Hydro, which in turn is 100 percent owned by the Government of the Northwest Territories.
