Boyden is pleased to share the appointment news of Suzie Johnson, a recruitment co-led by Kevin Gregor and Kenny Gregor

Calgary, AB - June 21, 2022

Bow Valley College is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzie Johnson as its first Vice President of People, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, effective September 19, 2022. 

This newly created position will see Ms. Johnson lead all people and culture-related initiatives for Bow Valley College employees. She will champion developing, implementing, and assessing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategies, principles, and practice. She offers a compelling vision for the scope, significance, and investment in EDI at the College and will develop a team to achieve her goals.

“As a proud member of the Métis Nation, I am honoured and excited to contribute to the advancement of the EDI program at Bow Valley College,” says Johnson.

Ms. Johnson will also guide labour and employee relations, health and wellness, human resources policies and procedures, compensation, employee recruitment and retention, pay and benefits, and training and organizational development. 

Most recently serving as Executive Director, Human Resources at Keyano College, Ms. Johnson has a record of outstanding leadership. She started her career in human resources at Suncor Energy in 2002, rising to the position of Director, Human Resources in 2011. 

She brings a wealth of expertise in engaging talent management, organizational engagement, total rewards, analytics, and labour relations. Her valuable experience also includes strategic planning and execution, project management, budget planning, and workforce planning and development.

Ms. Johnson holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Calgary.

Her post-secondary education experience also includes sessional instruction in the Business Administration Program at Keyano College. She taught Human Resources Management, Organizational Behaviour, and Staffing courses.
