Kyle Loades, Chairman and Non-Executive Director, drops into the Pod to talk about his entrepreneurial background, his current roles, and why he believes developing a network is the most critical element to career success.

While now recognised as a successful entrepreneur, Loades’ career had humble beginnings; with his first job as a Teller at the Newcastle Permanent Building Society, arming him with the customer service skills that have been central to his later success. In 2001, with the founding of his company Auto Advantage, Loades went into the business of disruption.

This disruption has been a key part of his career, and his advice to young leaders in today’s volatile business environment to ensure that you’re delivering the basics while still looking towards the horizon, is pertinent. Loades emphasises the importance of an ongoing “search for knowledge”, ensuring one stays abreast of changes in the landscape, and has the ability to harness this and get on the front foot.
