Waterloo Region - Sept 01, 2022

The Region of Waterloo is pleased to announce that Jennifer Rose will join the organization as Commissioner of Engineering and Environmental Services.

On a daily basis, the Region’s Engineering and Environmental Services Department provides essential services to all residents across the tenth largest community in Canada, ranging from water services to waste management, as well as road design and road construction.

In this role, Jennifer will lead teams that ensure efficient, safe and effective delivery of several key services on a daily basis, while advancing the Region’s work on the environment.

As part of the Region’s leadership team, Jennifer will help plan for a significant population increase as the community grows from 630,000 to almost 1 million people over the next three decades.

“Meeting the current and future needs of residents is at the core of the work we carry out as an organization and as a leadership team,” says Chief Administrative Officer Bruce Lauckner. “I am really looking forward to Jennifer joining the team at the Region as we plan to accommodate growth through the effective delivery of vital services that all residents depend on.”

“I am thrilled to join the Region of Waterloo to help lead the delivery of essential services to residents,” says Jennifer Rose. “A focus on our environment has never been as important as it is now and I am committed to protecting and sustaining the natural resources in our growing community.”

Jennifer is currently the General Manager of Environmental Services at the City of Guelph, helping deliver water, wastewater and solid waste services to residents. She is the current Vice President of the Ontario Public Works Association.

Jennifer will join the Region of Waterloo on September 19, 2022.
