Seth Brysk
Regional Director, AJC Northern California
Seth Brysk is AJC's Northern California Regional Director. Previously, he served as Chief Officer of External Affairs and Partnerships at the SF Jewish Community Federation, ADL's Central Pacific Regional Director, AJC's Los Angeles Regional Director, and San Francisco Hillel's Executive Director.
He is a former provisional delegate to the US State Department Advisory Committee on Religious Freedom Abroad and representative to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
The Republic of Poland honored him as an Officer of the Order of Merit. He played a critical role in passing an inclusive hate crime law in Utah. Gavin Newsom appointed him to the Governor’s Council on Holocaust and Genocide Education. Brysk was also recognized by FBI Director Christopher Wray with the Community Leadership Award for his service and commitment to justice.
He earned degrees from UC Berkeley in Political Science and from Tel Aviv University in International Relations.
Seth Brysk is an accomplished and prolific development professional. He has partnered with successive development colleagues at seven figure events, garnered multi-year support from leading philanthropists and foundations, and secured corporate sponsors to exponentially grow annual campaigns. He looks forward to working closely in tandem with the AJC Northern California team and the new Director of Development to realize similar success.
Position Summary
The Director of Development, Northern California will make an impact at AJC by developing and implementing strategies to elevate philanthropic support from current supporters and broadening the base of donors.
The incumbent will be responsible for the multi-faceted development campaign that engages leadership and major donors, corporations, and foundations. Additionally, because AJC’s Northern California office services Utah and Hawaii, this is an opportunity to develop a leadership and donor pipeline across multiple states.
Reporting to the Regional Director and working as part of a highly collaborative team, the Director of Development will also work with autonomy, in identifying, researching, cultivating, engaging, soliciting, and stewarding existing donors and new prospects, managing fundraising events, and serving as a Development advisor and subject-matter expert. This position is accountable for expanding the scope and impact of development initiatives.
While there are no current direct reports, based on the growth of fundraising initiatives, there may be future opportunities to hire additional fundraising staff.
The Director of Development, Northern California does all of this while adhering to AJC’s core values: Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Accountability.
