With Boyden for over 10 years, Bill is responsible for the overall management of the Taiwan business and leads Boyden’s Greater China Financial Service practice. His work in the financial service sector has been extensive. He has broad exposure to insurance, corporate banking, retail banking, asset management, private banking, and venture capital. In addition, he has a successful track record in the consumer product industries, including packaged goods, premium products, and retail distribution.
Bill focuses his work on the recruitment of CEO, managing director, and business development positions. Bill also has a great deal of experience with Chief Financial Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Information Officer searches.
With the continuing consolidation of the Greater China market, Bill and the Taipei-based team spend more time on cross-boarder searches. In addition to his senior placements in Taiwan, in recent years Bill has completed senior-level searches in Hong Kong and China. Recent examples include CEO Hong Kong – US Life Insurance Company, Head Wealth Management Hong Kong– European Bank, CIO – China European Bank Asset Management Division, and Greater China Head - Quality European Bank.
Today Bill is a member of Boyden World Corporation’s Board of Directors. He has also held leadership positions in the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei. Positions have included Vice President, Secretary to the Board of Governors, and Chairman of the Nominations, Compensation, and Human Resource Committees.
Prior to entering the executive search field, Bill was the first Director of Membership Services at the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei.
Bill came to Taiwan in 1987. He holds a BA in History from the University of Minnesota. He completed the Boyden-Kellogg Advanced Consulting Program held at the JJ Kellogg Graduate School of Management. In 1997 Bill was the recipient of the Asia-Pacific Sidney Boyden award.
A fluent Mandarin speaker, Bill is a US citizen. His wife is from Taiwan and they have one child.
