About InBC Investment Corp.
InBC is a strategic investment fund created by the Government of British Columbia as a Crown Corporation with $500 million to invest in growing companies and venture funds to benefit the people of British Columbia. With a triple bottom line mandate to value people, planet and profit, we are investing to generate financial returns alongside measurable economic, social and environmental impacts for the province. InBC’s mandate from the government has tasked the fund with five key priorities:
The day-to-day operations and investment decision making of InBC are independent of the government. InBC was created under the StrongerBC Economic Plan. As a provincial Crown corporation, we have a shared responsibility to advance the priorities of the Province of British Columbia, including the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 and BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

InBC works to generate positive financial, social and environmental returns over the long term. InBC is investing in a more prosperous, sustainable and inclusive future for British Columbia by deploying capital to drive innovation addressing social and environmental issues, while increasing the number of companies growing and staying in the province and improving intellectual property (IP) retention. Profits from InBC will be reinvested to create an evergreen fund for BC. The goal is to generate enough investment income to become self-sustaining in the medium to long term. Achieving this goal, they will be able to continue working for the benefit of British Columbia well into the future.
