Boyden is pleased to share the appointment news of Oliver Jerschow, a recruitment led by Andrew Dumont

Innisfil, ON – Sept 9, 2021

Innisfil Town Council has successfully concluded the recruitment process for the next Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Town of Innisfil.

Effective October 25, 2021, Oliver Jerschow will be responsible for leading administration of the municipality. Since 2019, Jerschow has been Vice President, Employer & Stakeholder Relations at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS). 

“I’m honoured to help the Town of Innisfil navigate their next chapter,” Jerschow said. “This is an exciting time for Innisfil. I am eager to join this innovative team and look forward to working with Mayor Dollin, Council, citizens, and staff. Together we will ensure that the community is well-prepared to not only recover from the pandemic – but to thrive.”

Prior to his time at OMERS, Jerschow worked for the Province of Ontario in a number of roles, including Director, Municipal Finance Policy, at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and as Executive Coordinator for the Cabinet Office. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout his career, Jerschow has demonstrated leadership in working with the municipal sector on issues such as growth management, infrastructure investment, and financial sustainability. 

Over the last several months, the Town conducted a recruitment process that included extensive community and stakeholder consultation. Boyden Executive Search, in collaboration with a search committee comprised of Council members and community members, received 49 applications, and interviewed 11 candidates. The search committee made a unanimous recommendation to present Jerschow to Council as the preferred candidate. Council also made a unanimous decision to appoint him to the role.

“Input from our community is extremely important to Council and we wanted to take our time and solicit their input for the profile of our new CAO to ensure we hired the right person,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “I am confident that Oliver is that individual, and I am excited for him to join our team. I'd like to express my gratitude to our residents and staff for their patience, as well as to the members of our search committee for volunteering their time over the last few months. I would also like to extend my thanks to Dr. George Shaparew who stepped in as the Interim CAO during this time; his leadership has been greatly appreciated.”
