The Challenge

A leading global healthcare business reached out to Boyden as their Commercial Director was leaving the business suddenly and they needed interim support within a short timescale. The requirement was time-critical and a key, strategic position within the organisation. As such, they decided to engage with an experienced senior interim manager through Boyden who possessed the necessary attributes, skills and who had a strong commercial background.

The Solution

The interim commercial director needed to swiftly instill confidence in the team and key stakeholders to drive through substantial change within the organsation. The client wanted a self-starter who was able to work in an entrepreneurial environment to bring the existing team together. As the previous incumbent left a skills gap, the interim manager was required to swiftly and effectively add tangible value, build a strategic sales plan, and manage a remote workforce that needed leadership and direction. As the interim manager had a broad background in healthcare across international markets, a proven ability to cultivate communication channels to increase brand recognition and build relationships successfully at a senior level, they were highly effective.

The Result

The interim manager was able to make an immediate, positive impact and swiftly establish rapport with key stakeholders and their direct team. They were able to embed change by galvanising the team, making additional key hires to strengthen the commercial and marketing offering across the business whilst providing mentoring and coaching to key individuals as part of succession planning. They delivered significant and impressive levels of organic growth through restructuring and integrated a recently acquired international business.  They also provided the direction for the transformation of the business’s digital marketing strategy and CRM deployment.
