I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tony Botelho as the new Managing Director, UBC Career Centre. He will begin this role on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Mr. Botelho joins UBC from Simon Fraser University (SFU), where he has served as the Director of Career & Volunteer Services since 2008. Tony is a nationally recognized leader in the field of career development, and was awarded the prestigious Stu Conger Award for Leadership by the Canadian Career Development Foundation (2019). He is also the most recent recipient of the Moe Ktytor Award of Merit by the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (2022). Tony holds a Master of Arts in Education from SFU.

As the Managing Director, UBC Career Centre, Tony will play a pivotal role in continuing to enhance and advance the UBC Career Centre as a national leader, leading and developing innovative career programming and services accessible to all students, and strengthening our campus and industry career-related partnerships.

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my deep appreciation to Janet Mee, Managing Director Student Affairs, for the leadership she has provided in supporting the continued advancement of the strategic priorities of the UBC Career Centre.
