North York General (NYG) is delighted to announce that Serda Evren has been appointed as NYG’s next Chief Communications and External Relations Officer, starting January 26, 2026.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Communications and External Relations Officer leads internal and external communications, issues and crisis management, government and community relations, as well as brand and reputation, and is central to achieving our Vision and being recognized for providing World-Class Care 24/7.
Serda brings extensive experience across the public and private sectors, with a career rooted in strategic communications, reputation management, and purpose-driven leadership.
She began in the Government of Ontario, advising senior leaders across multiple ministries and navigating public-policy challenges that shaped her approach to clear and effective messaging. She then moved into the private sector at Rogers Communications Inc., where she supported senior executives and strengthened reputation for one of Canada’s most visible organizations.
Over the past 14 years at Mastercard, Serda held several senior roles, including Head of Communications and Philanthropy for Canada, Chief of Staff to both the North America President and the Chief Product Officer globally, and most recently, Vice President of Global Brand Strategy. In these roles, she led award-winning work across brand, philanthropy, public affairs, and strategy. Her focus has been on building strong narratives, fostering meaningful partnerships, and connecting organizational values to the people they serve.
She is recognized for bringing clarity, collaboration, and steady leadership to organizations operating in complex environments and navigating change.
