The Vancouver Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Grant Mosby, CPA, CA, has joined the institution as its new Senior Director of Finance & Administration, the Gallery’s top financial role. With more than 15 years of experience across nonprofit and public‑sector finance, Grant brings a distinctive combination of commercial discipline and social‑purpose business acumen. He joins the Gallery at a defining moment to strengthen its financial and operational foundations.
“Grant brings exactly the combination of strategic foresight and disciplined financial stewardship that the Gallery needs in this moment,” say Eva Respini and Sirish Rao, Interim Co-CEOs of the Vancouver Art Gallery. “As we continue to align operations with a sustainable financial framework and prepare for our next chapter, his expertise in systems modernization, enterprise risk management and capital planning will be instrumental in ensuring long-term resilience for the organization.”
A seasoned finance executive, Mosby joins the Gallery from the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, where he most recently served as Director of Finance & IT. He began his career at Deloitte and Peterson Investment Group before moving into senior finance roles with the Community Land Trust and the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.
Throughout his career, Mosby has built a reputation as a steady and strategic finance leader who supports organizations through periods of growth and transition. His approach reflects what he describes as leading with a “business mind and charity heart,” a philosophy grounded in the belief that mission-driven organizations must be managed with commercial discipline to maximize their impact.
"I'm thrilled to be joining the Vancouver Art Gallery at this pivotal moment,” says Grant Mosby. “The Gallery is a pillar of a healthy, vibrant community and its success signals that art matters in Vancouver. I look forward to partnering with Sirish, Eva, the Board and the team here to strengthen financial systems so we can focus on what matters most: bringing exceptional art and experiences to the community."
Mosby is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a CFO Program Certificate from CPABC Executive Professional Development, a Diploma in Accounting from UBC Sauder School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia.
