National Brain Tumor Society

About NBTS

The National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites the brain tumor community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and their care partners.

NBTS is a leading policy advocacy and research organization, as well as a convener of brain tumor research leaders from industry, regulatory bodies, funding organizations, clinical practice, research, and patient advocacy. It also provides resources and personalized support to patients and families, bringing members of the brain tumor community together each year through walks, races, community events, and Gray Nation Endurance programs.

NBTS’s impact includes paradigm-shifting research discoveries, the development of new treatments, increased federal funding for brain tumor research, innovative clinical trials, and opportunities for entrepreneurship and venture philanthropy to benefit brain tumor research and health care delivery.

Although there has been significant progress in understanding brain tumor biology, NBTS remains unsatisfied with the status quo of today’s treatment options. It continues to invest in new ideas and research designed to incentivize the development and delivery of treatments that dramatically improve survival and quality of life for patients.

NBTS is committed to accelerating the discovery and development of more effective treatments for people living with brain tumors. Through strategic research investments, scientific collaborations, and partnerships across the medical and biotechnology communities, NBTS works to address some of the most complex challenges in brain tumor research and move promising discoveries from the laboratory toward clinical care.

Its research efforts have helped advance precision medicine, biomarker-driven approaches, and innovative treatments designed to improve survival and quality of life. By bringing together researchers, clinicians, patients, and industry partners, NBTS seeks to accelerate progress and create meaningful breakthroughs for both adult and pediatric brain tumor patients.
