In 2025, companies globally are experiencing record numbers of C-suite appointments, particularly for CFOs, CHROs, and COOs, driven by CEO turnover, retirements, and the demand for leaders skilled in AI and transformation. Boards are placing greater emphasis on succession planning and seeking executives who can lead through rapid change and uncertainty. The roles of CFO, CHRO, and COO are evolving, with organizations valuing broader skill sets and internal development. As Diane Turek Pire, managing partner and global HR practice leader at Boyden, notes, “Organizations are recognizing that HR needs a seat at the C-suite table [to] effectively steward the organization to its goals.”
