Vancouver, BC - Dec 4, 2025
The District of North Vancouver is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Fox as its new Chief Administrative Officer, effective February 3, 2026.
Mike (pictured at right) joins the District after serving as the CAO for the City of Port Alberni, where he led transformative initiatives in strategic planning, infrastructure development and community engagement.
“Mike brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership in municipal governance,” said District of North Vancouver Mayor Mike Little. “His vision and collaborative approach will be instrumental as we address key priorities in our community such as housing, infrastructure, transportation and sustainability.”
As CAO, Mike will oversee the District’s operations and work closely with Council, staff and community partners to continue delivering on strategic goals while enhancing quality of life for District residents.
“I am excited to join the District of North Vancouver and contribute to building a vibrant, resilient community,” said Mike Fox. “I look forward to working with Council and staff to advance initiatives that matter most to residents.”
Mike’s appointment follows the retirement of David Stuart, whose departure marks a significant milestone in the District's history - David has served the District for 40 years, including 18 years as CAO.
“David guided our municipality steadily through times of success, challenge and change. Throughout his tenure, he has been known among colleagues for his deep commitment to public service and his dedication to the people of this municipality,” says Mayor Little. “On behalf of Council, I extend our sincere thanks to David for his years of service and wish him all the best in his retirement.”
