PROPHET

What is PROPHET?

PROPHET is a business-focused profiling tool that helps people understand how they and others approach their role and how they can best work together to bring value to their organisation.

  • Validated psychometric registered by the BPS

  • Delivers fast, actionable insight for business relationships

  • Great for candidate insight, fast-tracking on-boarding and developing high performing teams.

PROPHET examines:

  • Motivations – what stimulates desire and energy in people at work

  • Decision-making Styles – how people prefer to react to decisions or choices at work

  • Inclinations – their preference for different, and at times competing, business activities

PROPHET hinges around 4 stages of a typical business cycle. It examines the extent to which people prefer Creative activities, or to Design, Operate or Improve.

PROPHET seeks to improve how teams work together, promoting stronger relationships. By harnessing the value of diverse thought, opinion and outlook, PROPHET aspires to make every workplace more collaborative and successful.

Your Motivations

Organizations are concerned with motivation, since it is inextricably linked to performance. Leaders and team managers are presented with the continuous challenge of understanding how much motivation their teams or stakeholders, and they themselves, have for a task, and then enhancing this motivation.

This section looks at the strength of the team's Motivation for Driving (pushing for business results), Influencing (persuading others to act), Team (collaborating for success), Order (focused on quality and detail).

Your Decision-making Styles

Performance in business requires teams to adapt their approach to making decisions at different times. Success might be the result of following a precise set of guidelines, or brought about by trying new things. Sometimes increased productivity comes from taking fast decisions, accelerating planning and eliminating the irrelevant or less important details. On the other hand, the correct course of action might be the culmination of careful planning, assessment and concern about potential risks.

PROPHET looks at four Decision-making Styles across the team:

Inspired (very flexible and free-thinking), Experimental (making quick decisions to resolve problems), Analytical (carefully assessing different options) or Systematic (following a structured and logical process). PROPHET helps teams to resolve differences quickly and take better decisions by covering different angles and reduce biases that may be present within all team dynamics.

Your Inclinations

This element of your Profile presents a set of four inclinations. These scales look at the extent to which you might tend to focus on these different, and at times competing, business activities. All four of PROPHET's inclinations are on a spectrum. Because all the elements are important in the workplace, people must balance the need to focus on both ends of each spectrum and adapt to the requirements of the business objective, phase of maturity, or business relationship.

The Inclinations are a helpful tool for considering how you come across to others and how you might be more adaptable in your behaviour and focus. In any role, it is important to be able to exhibit each of these inclinations at the relevant time. These thinking and behavioural shifts can sometimes be difficult to sustain. The further to one extreme you are, the more difficult it might be to adopt the opposite way of working consistently.
