Created in 2021 by the Government of BC, InBC Investment Corporation (“InBC”) was established as an independent Crown Corporation with a $500 million strategic investment fund to provide a source of local and long‑term capital for small and medium‑sized businesses.

InBC was established with the objective of taking a new, bold approach to positioning British Columbia as an economic leader.

InBC is a strategic investment fund created by the Government of British Columbia as a Crown Corporation with $500 million to invest in growing companies and venture funds to benefit the people of British Columbia.

Pursuant to the InBC Investment Corp. Act, the Board oversees the affairs of the corporation to ensure prudent stewardship and alignment with the policy direction from the government.

The Chief Investment Officer will set the vision for and execute InBC’s strategic investment fund strategy.

The ideal candidate for the CIO will have leadership experience in direct and fund venture capital investing including having investment authority and portfolio management experience.

A key member of the Financial Services Practice and leader of Boyden’s Real Estate / Asset Management Practice in Canada, Derrick Chow brings a strong track record in recruiting leadership talent that drives organizational success. He also brings deep experience and expertise in the technology sector and in recruiting for senior IT, finance, HR and operational executives. He is known as a trusted advisor with ability to understand the business, vision and culture of an organization and how it informs the recruitment and selection process.

Lisa Kershaw serves a broad client base, particularly focused on financial services/pensions, not-for-profit, retail/manufacturing and healthcare. Her strategic expertise brings value to international, mid-market and growth companies across virtually all functions including finance, marketing, HR, operations and general management. Lisa is highly regarded for her ability to work with boards on CEO searches.

Arin Vee is a proponent of the Canadian innovation ecosystem, dedicated to helping Canadian companies scale into global market leaders. He connects founders, boards, and investors with the leadership talent needed to drive growth. Arin’s practice spans robotics, software, industrial automation, and hard tech, where he partners with CEOs, boards, and investors to appoint transformative leaders who accelerate innovation, scale operations, and lead organizational change.
