Working closely with municipal partners and the Executive Leadership Team, the CEO will guide GVPL’s continued evolution to meet the needs of the communities it serves. In doing so, the Chief Librarian/CEO will advance a clear vision for the future of the library, strengthen its impact across the region, and identify opportunities to enhance services, programming, and access.

Established in 1889, GVPL has evolved into a comprehensive, multi-branch system delivering accessible library services to a diverse and growing population.
Living in Victoria, BC
The Greater Victoria Public Library’s service area is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Songhees and Xʷsepsəm (Esquimalt) Nations, the W̱SÁNEĆ Nations of SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout) and W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), and the SC’IȺNEW (Beecher Bay) Nation, where the library plays an important role in supporting learning, access, and connection.

The Chief Librarian/CEO provides strategic leadership to advance literacy, lifelong learning, and inclusive community spaces.
