The Client
Our client is a global leader in both digital and physical document management solutions, providing business process outsourcing services at scale. Operating across more than 20 locations worldwide, the organization employs over 8,000 people and generates revenues exceeding $700 million. The company serves a broad range of industries where operational efficiency and process reliability are core to client value delivery.
The Challenge
The organization was acquired by a technology-focused private equity firm through a strategic M&A transaction. The acquisition created immediate demand for a comprehensive assessment of the global leadership team — both to ensure seamless integration into the new organizational structure and to provide the incoming investors with clear visibility into the capabilities and readiness of the executive leadership. Strategic guidance on optimizing the leadership structure post-acquisition was equally critical to the transition.
The Solution
Boyden began by facilitating workshops with the new investors to define the target leadership profile and co-create a leadership competency model calibrated to the organization's revised strategy and vision. Proficiency levels were tailored to the distinct requirements of each executive role. Individual leadership assessments were then conducted across the global executive team, incorporating competency-based interviews, psychometric evaluation, and background analysis. Each leader received a one-on-one feedback session to support their integration and professional development within the new context. Boyden also provided the CEO with detailed analysis across key capability domains — including strategy, execution, innovation, and change readiness — and identified leadership patterns, dominant profiles, and outliers to inform post-acquisition decision-making.
The Results
The assessment covered the Global CEO and 10 Executive Board Members. Boyden delivered a leadership competency model, identified individual strengths and development areas, provided board pipeline advisory, and produced strategic guidance directly aligned with the CEO's priorities.
The Impact
Boyden provided the private equity firm and incoming leadership with the structured intelligence needed to make confident, data-driven decisions on team alignment, leadership development, and organizational design in the critical months following acquisition.
