Top board, CEO and C-suite expert Kerry Moynihan joins as Partner as companies reevaluate leadership needs in changing times

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 15, 2020 Boyden, a premier leadership and talent advisory firm, today announced that Kerry Moynihan has joined as a Partner in Washington, D.C., further deepening the firm’s commitment to help client organizations cope with unprecedented challenges.

Moynihan has had a distinguished career of more than 30 years in executive search, as a trusted advisor to boards of directors, CEOs, and the C-suite in talent acquisition and leadership assessment, serving clients on six continents.

Working across a broad array of industries, Moynihan will serve as a key member of Boyden’s Global CEO & Board Services, Private Equity & Venture Capital and Healthcare & Life Sciences Practices. His clients have included dozens of LBO and venture capital funds, and he has repeatedly connected executive leaders with private equity funds that have backed them in acquisitions. He has conducted multiple board searches for Converse, Timberland, E*Trade, the GAVI Fund and Johns Hopkins, among others.

“Kerry is used to ‘high delta’ situations, and we are excited that he is joining Boyden to further support our U.S. growth,” said Craig Stevens, a Board Member and Managing Partner of Boyden United States, based in Washington, D.C. “He brings much more than the typical executive search professional, with his expertise in driving shareholder value, corporate governance, executive compensation and leadership strategy.”

Moynihan joins Boyden from another executive search firm. Previously he served as a Managing Director and Board Member of another top 10 executive search firm, and as a Partner in the largest publicly traded executive search firm. Early in his career he co-founded a leading global music and entertainment business.

"The attractions of Boyden for me include its rich heritage of innovation as the first major search firm, a strongly collaborative partnership culture, and truly global footprint," said Moynihan.

Moynihan is a widely quoted and frequent opinion writer in media such as Forbes, Corporate Board Member, American Consequences and other leading publications. He has served as an Advisory Board Member and Director for numerous organizations including SchoolPass, Asgaard Capital and Pareto Energy, and is a former Board President of the Wharton Executive MBA Scholarship Fund, in addition to his work with the Jefferson Scholars Program at the University of Virginia.

He holds an MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Virginia.
